
Portraits of Those Held Hostage After Hamas Attack on Israel
A temporary cease-fire deal that would facilitate the release of dozens of hostages held by Hamas terrorists in Gaza offers a glimmer of hope to families and friends of those who have been held captive since their abduction from southern Israel by terrorists on Oct. 7. In all, roughly 240 people were taken to Gaza by terrorists in Hamas’ deadly rampage. Israel and Hamas agreed to a four-day halt that would also see the release of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. Under the deal announced by Qatar on Wednesday, 50 hostages would be released in exchange for what Hamas said would be 150 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. Those released by both sides would be women and minors. Israel said the truce would be extended by a day for every 10 additional hostages released....
