
Judge Dismisses Lawsuits Between City and Local Bar, Ending 2-Year COVID Battle
BURBANK, Calif.—A two-year legal battle between the City of Burbank and a popular Western-themed restaurant and bar shut down by authorities during the COVID-19 pandemic has concluded after a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge recently dismissed all remaining claims from both sides. The Tinhorn Flats Saloon and Grill on Magnolia Boulevard was a local favorite before it was forced to close and fined several hundred thousand dollars by the city and Los Angeles County during the pandemic. Former owner Baret Lepejian and his two children operated the bar at the time. The family countersued after the city filed a lawsuit against the business, claiming the city violated its First Amendment rights by retaliating against the owners for not shutting down....
