Public Sector Strike: Quebec Government Calls on Unions to Submit Counter-Offer

Quebec’s treasury board president implored unions on Nov. 19 to table a counter-offer to the government’s last contract proposal as a week of planned, provincewide, public sector strikes is set to get underway. Sonia LeBel published a short video on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying the province’s last offer was a serious one and merited a counter-proposal, but the unions have not submitted a reply. “There’s been no movement from the union, I have had no counter-offer, they’ve offered nothing in return,” Ms. LeBel said.
