Chinese-American Anti-CCP Anime Series Gains Worldwide Popularity

A Chinese-American artist’s new anime series that mocks and criticizes the Chinese communist regime and its followers has gained popularity among Chinese worldwide. The “MrMarmot” channel on YouTube released an anime video last week titled “Chinese Social Credit System in 2077” which was inspired by the role-playing game “Cyberpunk 2077.” The story is set in the near future, after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has taken over the world and people live in a typical CCP-controlled society without freedom, such as “social credit” scores, literary censorship, and massive surveillance of citizens. The anime depicts how people who are unwilling to accept this system rebel and are suppressed by the regime. Some of the images are taken from historical photos of the anti-extradition movement in Hong Kong in 2019, with the caption: “To my friends in Hong Kong, stand with Hong Kong!”...
