
Mask Mandates Back in Ontario Long-Term Care Homes

Ontario long-term care homes will now require masking after an uptick in COVID-19 cases, according to government numbers. The masking directive is in a Nov. 2 memo from the Ministry of Long-Term Care to LTC licensees, the CBC reports It says the advice is from the chief medical officer of health, Dr. Kieran Moore. Masking was expected to be implemented by Nov. 7 in long-term care homes across the province. It will apply to employees, volunteers, students, and support workers. The move follows a report from the Ministry of Public Health that notes there were 7,157 outbreaks of COVID-19 in care homes so far in 2023....
